Takashi Murakami QR codes

Posted in News by Dy Allo on April 21, 2009

Qr Codes (quick response codes) are visual matrices /2 dimensional bar codes created in 1994 by a japanese company.  Here is an example from wikipedia:

They contain links to web-based information (multimedia, websites, etc) sometimes including URL’s up to 400 characters.  Products can be applied with qr codes  which holds a high speed connection to the latest information about the product. This can be done using the scanning tool on your cell phone.

Louis Vuitton has just tapped long-time collaborator Takashi Murakami to produce a QR for some of their products (i’m guessing). If you don’t know, Takashi created the cover art for Kanye’s Graduation,  as well as, the LV multicolor monogram design.

This code  features one of the artist’s characters and the classic LV pattern.
